PURPOSE:To easily retrieve and reproduce specified pictures or data by regulating the length after interleaving and the position of end part of a block and recording directly for each corresponding frame. CONSTITUTION:Digital data signals are inputted to an ETM encoder 9 through a memory 41 and the memory 41 is controlled by a means 42 that detects specified position of video signals. By such constitution, the digital data signals are divided into blocks and interleaved to make the length after interleaving specified length, and the end part of the block is recorded near a specified position. Further, recording is made directly for each corresponding frame of field. Thus, digital data of related block structure can be made correspondent to each frame or each field, and retrieving or reproducing of specified pictures or digital data can be made easily.
