PURPOSE:To eliminate the breakage of a mold and consequently to improve the productivity by a method wherein a mold closing speed curve is corrected by comparing the impact force developing at mold closing with the estimated value. CONSTITUTION:A stroke sensor 8 detects the shifting stroke of a movable mold 1 by the impact force developed at the closing of molds 3 and 6 and at the same time sends the measured impact values, which are developed by the impact at mold closing and rearranged in amplitudes W and damping times (t), to a comparator. An impact detecting device 24 measures amplitude and damping time in response to the magnitude of the impact at mold closing. The amplitude W0 and damping time t0 and damping time t0 at normal mold closing are stored in a control device as control reference values. During automatic operation, impact forces developed are measured at all times so as to automatically change the slow mold closing speed and traveling distances of mold closing and the like, when said measured value or the mean value of several measured values of impact force is different from the control reference values, in order to make the developed impact force equal to the control reference values for protecting the mold and at the same time to prevent the unnecessarily longer slow traveling section from developing and consequently the productivity from lowering. |
