PURPOSE:The titled ultrafine particles advantageously usable for separation of cells, etc., having high dispersibility in solutions, corrosion resistance and environmental resistance, obtained by coating a core part consisting of ultrafine particles of magnetic substance through a binder with a high polymer and supporting an organism component on the periphery of the high polymer. CONSTITUTION:Microcapsulated ultrafine particles consisting of a core material comprising ultrafine particles of magnetic substance such as Fe, Co, Ni, magnetite, ferromagnetic alloy thereof, etc., a coupling layer comprising a binder chemically bonded to the surface of the core material, such as a silane compound shown by the formula R-Si-X3 (X is halogen, alkoxy, alkylcarbonyloxy, etc.; R is vinyl or substituted vinylcarboxyloxyalkyl), a high polymer coated layer obtained by polymerizing the polymerizable functional group R of the binder with a polymerizable monomer (e.g., methyl acrylate or styrene) and an organism component such as enzyme, protein, antibody, etc., immobilized to the coated layer. |
