PURPOSE:To stabilize combustion and to prevent fire from being blown out by a method wherein the level of energy obtained as a result of synthesization of the latent heat and the calorific value per unit quantity of the gasified fuel is detected and when the level is lower than a critical value required for keeping the combustion of the fuel, the auxiliary fuel is supplied. CONSTITUTION:A combustion apparatus in a gasified coal power plant or the like is provided with a compressor 1 and a burner 2 which is upplied with the gasified fuel 18 generated in a coal gasification apparatus and controlled to a certain flow rate by a flow rate control valve 33. Further, the above mentioned combustion apparatus is provided with a system for supplying the auxiliary fuel of high calory such as light oil. The system is provided with a pipe 44, a flow rate control valve 45 and a nozzle 46 in which the flow rate control valve 45 is controlled by a control system including an extracted air flow rate detector 40, an air flow rate detector 41, an air-fuel ratio operator 42 and an auxiliary fuel flow rate setting device 43. Consequently, when the above mentioned level of fuel energy lowers below the critical value required for keeping the combustion of the fuel within the burner 2, the system is so controlled that it supplies the auxiliary fuel into the burner 2. |
