A disposable ca theter pressure transducer consists of a plastic support member (4, 22) for a semiconductor pressure transducer (8), with said support member being held by a metal tube (1) which with a portion (2) of reduced diameter is inserted and fixed to the distal end of the catheter tube (3). An internal tube (12) feeding a reference pressure to the bottom side of a semiconductor pressure measuring membrane (9) simultaneously surrounds the electrical connecting wires (13) for the transducer chip and a reinforcement wire (14) which gives the catheter the necessary stability for placing the catheter tip at the desired location within the patient.
