PURPOSE:To perform optical recording to a photosensitive body sensitive to ultraviolet rays, by emitting ultraviolet rays by the discharge of a recording electrode and a reference electrode. CONSTITUTION:A large number of recording electrodes A1-An are fixed to the wall surface in the vicinity of a light pervious material 12 among the inner wall surfaces of a container 10 by vapor deposition or thick film printing. A reference electrode B is fixed to the wall surface opposed to the wall surface having the electrodes A1-An fixed thereto in the same way as the recording electrodes. By this method, a large number of light pervious windows 12A1-12An are formed to the light pervious material 12. When voltage equal to or less than discharge start voltage is applied to the arbitrary recording electrode among the recording electrodes A1-An and the reference electrode B, glow discharge is generated between the recording electrode and the reference electrode to which voltage is applied and ultraviolet rays emitted from the glow discharge becoming a spot light source transmit through the light pervious material 12 to be emitted to a photosensitive body. By this method, optical recording can be performed to the photosensitive body sensitive to ultraviolet rays.
