<p>In the production of ribbed nonferrous metal tubes, the undeformed ribbed strip has hitherto first of all been passed with a longitudinal edge through a bath of flux and then through a tinning bath. After coating, the ribbed strip is deformed into a coil by rolling and, at the same time, wound directly onto the core tube. The soldering tin is then melted by hot air or by a naked flame, with the result that it also comes to rest on the core tube and, after it has cooled down, connects the core tube and the rib coil to one another. According to the invention, the circumferential surface of the unribbed core tube is first of all wetted with a flux and then coated with soldering tin. The untreated flat strip is then wound helically onto the core tube. The ribbed tube is thereupon passed through an induction coil and the soldering tin is thereby melted. The advantage of this method is less tool wear in coiling and a higher winding speed since the required soldering temperature can be applied more rapidly to the soldering location.</p> |
