发明名称 FORMING METHOD FOR ORIENTED FILM FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To execute an oriented film control by a molecule order, and to obtain a satisfactory orienting property high in reproducibility by forming a first oriented film of an organic high polymer on the substrate surface on which an electrode is formed, and forming a second oriented film consisting of an LB film of a compound for forming a lyotropic liquid crystal, on said film. CONSTITUTION:An orienting agent which has melted an organic high polymer compound or its precursor in a solvent is applied onto a substrate 8 provided with an electrode, and a heating treatment is performed, by which the first oriented film 9 is formed. Subsequently, a compound for forming a lyotropic liquid crystal is melted in an organic solvent of a nonaqueous compound, a monomolecular film is formed by dripping down a solution onto the surface of water, and thereafter, a lyotropic liquid crystal film is formed by coagulating the monomolecular film, the substrate 8 on which the first oriented film 9 is formed is immersed in roughly the vertical direction against the lyotropic liquid crystal film and drawn up, and on the first oriented film 9, the second oriented film 11 consisting of the lyotropic liquid crystal film is formed. In such a way, an oriented film control by a molecule order can be executed, and the oriented film having a satisfactory characteristic can be formed with high reproducibility.
