PURPOSE:To make unnecessary the flame buildup or burner regulation after ignition to improve the convenience by providing the wick regulator mechanism with a combustion rate saving means which automatically lowers and stops the wick at a preset position. CONSTITUTION:Upon ignition, a movable member 28 starts gradually rising by the force of a coil spring 31 and the action of reduction gears 25. And, by way of the pin holder 32 of the movable member 28, the pin 33 hence the wick regulator lever 6 as well are pushed up. Thus, the wick 4 descends gradually to reduce the combustion rate. The movable member 28 that reduces the combustion rate comes closer to a selector plate 40 of the combustion rate selector mechanism 22 as it rises, and ultimately stops when it comes in contact with said selector plate 40. The movable member, therefore, does not move upwardly any farther, and the combustion rate is maintained at a position where said movable member 28 came in contact with the selector plate 40, keeping the combustion rate there.
