PURPOSE:To improve the rectification compensating accuracy by calculating and evaluating a rectification deterioration rate on the basis of an armature current and its change rate, and obtaining the rate on the basis of the result. CONSTITUTION:An exciting current reference calculator 19 generates an exciting current reference Ieo for an auxiliary interpole coil 12 for compensating the excess or insufficient transient magnetic flux of the interpole magnetic flux generated due to the time delay of the interpole magnetic flux in response to an armature current Ia. A rectification deterioration detector 22 generates a rectification deterioration rate on the basis of the output of a fire sensor 23 and the current Ia. A compensation rate calculator 26 monitors a signal alpharepresenting the reversal of the deterioration rate, and outputs a compensation rate signal beta for minimizing the deterioration rate. The signal beta and the basic exciting current Ieo are input to a multiplier 28, which obtains an exciting current reference Ie' as the product of both inputs. |
