A device for retaining tubed tyres (1) on rims (4), especially of bicycles, is described, using at least one elastically resilient layer of coupling agent in the form of a tape, with one tape being fastened firmly and permanently to the inner circumferential surface of the rim where the latter engages with the tubed tyre, as rim tape (3), and another tube tape (2) being permanently attached to the tubed tyre in the area that engages with the rim. An essential feature is that the two areas of the tube tape and the rim tape brought into contact when the tubed tyre is mounted on the rim have surface structures that ensure a positive connection between the tube of the bicycle or the like and the corresponding rim, as well as the usual non-positive connection. <IMAGE>
