Conventional, known cutting blades of mincing machines are provided in the direction of rotation with a sharpened cutting edge. The lateral surfaces are smooth and the back is enclosed. Apart from on the cutting edge, a certain degree of emulsification is produced by friction alone on the smooth lateral surfaces as the material slides through without resistance. An emulsifying tool which is arranged according to the invention on the sides of the cutting blades of the mincing machine and a knob-like structure on the said sides intensifies emulsification during comminution of the foodstuffs to be processed, for example meat, in a meat mincing machine or a mixer.
