发明名称 Orientable roller skates
摘要 Roller skates which are currently known generally include two, three or four small wheels per skate; this is so that the skater balances on each of them; at least, this was the original concept. In point of fact, moreover, there is another skating sport which is practised on ice with skates consisting of steel blades of approximately 3 to 4 millimetres thickness. It is on the edge of these blades that the skater advances. Moreover, they include a curvature in their plane such that the skater slides on the curve of which the ice is the tangential plane; under these conditions, edge gripping takes place without difficulty. In fact, the actual basis of skating on ice consists in gripping with the "edge" in order to advance in a curve. The object of the present invention is to make possible "edge-gripping" with small wheels in tandem, enabling the spindles to be oriented towards the fictitious centre of the radius vector of the curve taken by the skater as a function of the thrust exerted on the sole of his skate; in fact, it suffices to mount the small wheels on links which are articulated but integral with one another so that the small wheels can be oriented when stressed by the skater in order to advance in a curve with constant bearing. <IMAGE>
