APPARATUS FOR LOCAL HEATING OF PLATE GLASS

PURPOSE:To provide the subject heating apparatus capable of minimizing the deviation between the bent line and the heating line of a plate glass with a simple structure, by using a local heating source placed opposite to a plate glass moving in a heating furnace at a prescribed speed and a controlling actuator to control the position of the heating source in the direction of the width of the heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:The heating furnace 1 of the above local heating apparatus for plate glass is provided, in the longitudinal direction (Y axis) and the transversal direction (X axis), with detection means to detect the present position of the Y axis of a plate glass G and the present position of the X axis of the heating source 23. The present position of the plate glass 23 is detected by counting 28 the output pulses transmitted from a pulse generator 26 attached to a driving motor 25 of a transfer roller 2 in the furnace. The present position of the heating source 23 is detected by counting the output pulses of a pulse generator 18a attached to a motor 18 with a counter 32. The target position of the heating source 23 is calculated from the prescribed coordinates of the initial end and the final end of a heating orbit to be formed on the plate glass G and the present position of the plate glass G by linear interpolation and the difference between the present position and the target position is used as a speed command to operate the motor 18.
