The invention relates to a mounting device for spare lengths of optical waveguides for telecommunication racks. It is to be produced in a simple and cost-advantageous manner and is to permit the spare lengths to be inserted rapidly and without complications and removed in a similar simple manner. For this purpose, a disc-shaped coil former is proposed which has, in a side wall, a passage opening which extends over the region between the winding discs.
