A device for freezing pipelines through which media flow, in particular for water conduits of heating systems has a refrigeration package (refrigeration unit) for managing the circuit of a vaporisable refrigerant by means of a contact element (1) which has at least two cooling jaws (4,5) which are closed with respect to the atmosphere. Said jaws can be mounted on the pipeline and joined to the refrigeration package via at least one outgoing conduit (2) and one return conduit (3). A capillary tube which serves as a throttle member is connected upstream of the contact element (1). In order to simplify the conduit management without impairing the thermal efficiency, the capillary tube forms the outgoing conduit (2) between the refrigeration package and the contact element (1) and is structurally combined with the return conduit (3). The capillary tube is preferably arranged inside the return conduit (3) and forms a combined conduit (23) therewith. <IMAGE>
