The invention relates to an electrodynamic transducer head for the non-destructive testing of workpieces with electrically conducting surfaces by means of ultrasound, having a magnet system for generating a static or low-frequency magnetic field and at least one transducer coil arranged on the end face of the magnet system facing the workpiece, the said coil having, on the side facing the workpiece, a layer which is wear-resistant and, with respect to the magnet system, an insulating layer. In order to provide an electrodynamic transducer head which is simple and cost-effective to produce and can be used universally, and in which the eddy-current formations in the magnet system which lead to faulty indications are virtually completely suppressed, it is proposed that an intermediate part (10), arranged in the region of the transducer coil (7, 8) and the magnet system (2) and made of a soft-magnetic powder compound material known per se of low electrical conductivity, is connected on one side to the magnet system (2) and on the other side to the transducer coil (7, 8). <IMAGE>
