A cover (1) for the frame of a switchgear cubicle has slightly inwardly angled edge strips (8) and oppositely angled swagings (11) in the region of through holes (6). When securing screws are tightened, the cover (1) becomes domed (arrow 16) thus producing prestressing forces (arrow 17) distributed over the entire cover (1). The cover (1) may therefore be thinner than with an ordinary flat design. Suitable for switchgear cubicles and cells and similar components.
