Insulation in a low-pressure turbine plant in order to reduce power losses caused by heat transport from hot inner surfaces to cooler outer surfaces of walls in the turbine and associated equipment. The walls are insulated externally against a surrounding vacuum space (7) with an elastomeric sheeting (1). The sheeting is fixed with sheet elements or rivet-like means.
