Four probes (11, 12, 13, 14) drop down into communicating vessels (6, 7, 8, 9) and detect the presence or absence of liquid in contact with them. The resulting signals are transmitted to a unit (15) for controlling a drive member for actuating the retraction or extension of each telescopic leg (2, 3, 4, 5) in the vicinity of which each probe is installed. <IMAGE>
