PRODUCTION OF CHITINASE BY BACTERIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To simply obtain the subject chitinase without using colloidal chitin troublesome in preparation as an inducing substrate by culturing in a culture medium a bacterium belonging to genus Kurthia and having chitinase producing ability. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium (FERM P-10969) belonging to genus Kurthia and having chitinase producing ability is cultured in a culture medium to produce chitinase and the objective chitinase is collected from the culture medium. Furthermore, the culture is preferably carried out e.g. at pH about 7.0 and 27-32 deg.C for 48-96hr under an aerobical stirring incubation.
