A tripod for a camera has each leg (3) pivoting on a pin (5) w.r.t. a tripod support plate (1). The leg opening angle is adjustable. The angle adjusting mechanism consists of a stop plate (16) sliding vertically on the support plate and cooperating with a number of stop surfaces (34) on the tripod leg. The stop surfaces have different distances from the pivot pin. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simpler repair or replacement of the stop plate or surfaces for leg angle adjustment on a camera tripod.
