The contra-flow heat-exchanger has passages for the media (2,3) whose width (a) at right angles to the heat-exchange surfaces is at the most double the thickness of the boundary layer(s) of the media. The passages are formed of thin sheet-metal. The passages can be flat between the exchange surfaces. There are feed passages to them tapering in the flow direction, and discharge passages widening in this direction.
