An improvement in a bending machine for elongate material consisting of a support frame for an upper pressure member positioned entirely to one side of lower supports. This leaves an opposed side of the lower supports open and unobstructed by the support frame. One of the upper pressure member and the lower support members is horizontally movable between an operative position and a loading position. In the operative position the upper pressure member and the lower supports are in axial alignment, and in the loading position clearance is provided above the lower supports to permit elongate material to be loaded onto the lower supports from the open and unobstructed opposed side.
