Self-cleaning filter with cutting device, mainly designed for processing liquid manure, but also suitable for many other applications such as, for example, sewage treatment, the processing industry etc. The device comprises a lattice cage (grid cage) as a filter, and means which keep the passages between the lattice bars (grid bars) continually open. The invention further comprises a conveyor screw of such design that, in co- operation with the lattice cage and a cutting screen, it has a size-reducing effect on the solid particles entrained in the liquid manure. Because the lattice filter is continuously cleaned and because the cutting conveyor screw also acts as a screw pump, the pressure drop between the supply side and the discharge side of the device is particularly low.
