The air conditioner operating circuit and control method comprises: an optical sensing circuit for sensing the brightness of a room, comparing the sensed brightness with a setting illuminance and generating an optical sensing value; a moving amount sensing circuit for generating a pulse signal by sensing a moving amount; and a microprocessor for implementing an automatic sleep operating function according to the outputs of the optical sensing circuit and the moving amount sensing circuit, thereby feeling agreeability.
