A cross-country ski with adjustable stiffness which has, in the central area of the ski, a zone 1 which is flexible or elastic in the vertical direction and which divides the ski into a front part 2 and a rear part 3, and this zone has a mechanism 4 for adjusting the bending resistance of the ski. The mechanism has, in the rear part of the ski, an essentially rigid frame part 5 extending rearwards from the zone, on which part 5 the binding 6 is secured.
