Device for generating a torque (couple), application to a physical exercise apparatus and control variator of a corresponding motor

A device (1) for generating a torque in order to simulate a load antagonistic to a force exerted by a user in a physical exercise apparatus (2) includes an asynchronous motor (10) controlled by a variator (11) of reversible type with vector flux control, slaved in current feedback by a torque-regulation loop (12). The variator (11) makes it possible to fix the flux in the motor (10) so that the torque can be controlled independently. The torque-regulation loop (12) is based on the measurements of a force sensor (29) which it compares with a force set-point (52) in order to control the current injected into the motor (10) by the variator (11). The device (1) thus generates a constant torque which opposes the force exerted by the user.
