A lane distribution apparatus. Articles (10) in a single lane (12) may be distributed to multiple lanes (122, 124) using the apparatus and process of the invention. A rocker plate (161) and associated rocker arms (70, 72) are used to shift simultaneously lanes both upstream (18) and downstream (92, 94) of a distribution point (84). The apparatus and process permits lane (18, 92, 94) changes in a short period of time, which minimizes the risk of product (10) stoppage and maximizes the speed with which products (10) can be conveyed. |
