The valve (1) has a cap (2) which is pressed by a lever (3) against a sealing surface (4) in the exhaust gas line (5). There is a spherical contact surface between the cap and the lever. The cap and lever can move relative to each other.The contact surface between the cap and the lever is at least approximately spherical. One or more stops (6) in the cap limit the travel of the lever when the cap is removed. These stops may be in the form of a stop ring with cutouts (7). This ring may be a spring ring, fitting in a groove (8) in the cap or on a shoulder of the cap.
