The disconnection system for flexible umbilical connection (3) between a tower and a launcher (2) uses a couple of strings connected to the cable and to the launcher. A projection (5) on the launcher receives a pin (6) connected to the flexible connection. A draw string (8) is fastened to the pin, to enable it to be pulled at a distance. Another line (10) anchors the flexible connection to the tower and is easily broken under traction forces. A mounting (9)is used to fastened the two strings to the cable. The flexible connection may be a radio frequency, electrical or other cable.
