A ring trough mixer has an annular mixing chamber and a driven rotor (5) to which are attached mixer arms (7a) extending into the mixing chamber and carrying a number of mixing elements (9a,9a') at different radial distances from the axis of rotation. In order that the mixing elements can be displaced through an arc out of their working position if they meet an obstruction lying on the base of the mixing chamber, the arm (7a) consists of two coaxial support shafts (9a,9a') which are attached to the rotor (5) in such a way that they are able to rotate independently. At least the outer shaft (9a') is in the form of a tube, and at least one mixing element (8a,8a') is attached to each support shaft (9a,9a'). |
