FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bitumen production processes involving air-oxidation of petroleum straight-run distillation residual products or their mixtures with asphalts and lube oil- production extracts. Method of invention consists in mixing heavy oil material with additive and oxidizing thus prepared mixture by air oxygen at elevated temperature. As additive, residual oil material preliminarily treated by ozone-containing gas is used. When preparing additive, one can utilize a part of initial raw material and/or asphaltene and polyarene wastes from other processes. Ozonization is carried out at 20-60 C. Raw material is mixed with additive to achieve content of 3.5-20 g ozone per 1 kg of mixture. EFFECT: intensified process. 4 cl, 1 tblr
