An airlock linking first and second (3) spaces at different pressures, the second being higher than the first, e.g. for allowing maintenance personnel to pass from one to the other, consists of two independent pressurisation/depressurisation chambers (11, 12), each equipped with first (15, 16) and second (17, 18) doors for selective communication with the first and second spaces respectively, and an emergency airlock (13) with pressurisation equipment, situated between the sides of the two chambers. The first and second chambers (11, 12) are made so that they can be assembled or dismantled separately, and they have horizontal and vertical walls. The airlock also has control panels which are located before the emergency airlock and on its entry door side.
