FIELD: medical devices, in particular, for counting erythrocytes, leucocytes, thrombocytes and cultivated cells. SUBSTANCE: method involves engraving squares (Poisson units) which are located by grids and which area is one tenth of area in which erythrocytes, leucocytes, thrombocytes are counted using standard methods (respectively 0.02, 0.1 and 0.4 sq. mm), area of square (Poisson unit) for cultivated cells is equal to 1.8 sq. mm, which is one tenth with respect to area for convenient cell counting (18.0 sq. mm). Number of cells counted using known methods are divided by ten in order to calculated intended mean values. Poisson units serve as indicators for this division. Mean values which conform to Poisson distribution (equality of standard deviation to square root of mean value) and later approximation of Poisson distribution by means of normal distribution provides possibility to calculate confidence limits of mean value, compare mean values, calculate time of cell population doubling, determine limits for affecting cells with static and toxic agents.
