An aqueous solution of 1-(2-(2-naphthyl)ethyl)-4-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro pyridine hydrochloride (I) contains a specific amount of beta -cyclodextrin and acid or buffer to give an acid pH. A novel aqueous solution contains: (1) beta -cyclodextrin ( beta -CD) at up to 50 mg/ml; (2) 1-(2-(2-naphthyl)ethyl)-4-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro pyridine hydrochloride (I) at not more than 1/10 of the amount of beta -CD (both in mg/ml); and (3) an acid or buffer to give a pH of 3 or less. If the amount of beta -CD is x mg/ml (where x = 30-50), then the amount of (I) (in mg/ml) is at least ((x/10) - 3). Independent claims are included for: (1) a drinkable pharmaceutical composition in unit dosage form, comprising a solution as above containing 0.5-10 (preferably 5) mg of (I) per unit dosage; and (2) a novel complex formed from 1 molecule of (I) and 2 molecules of beta -CD.
