PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device that can suppress generation of stray light.SOLUTION: An illumination device comprises: a light guide body 71 that includes a long main body having light transmissivity; light sources that emit light to the light guide body 71; and a housing 61 that holds the light guide body 71. The light guide body 71 includes light incident surfaces 71b that are formed at the ends in the longitudinal direction and a light emission surface 71a that is formed on a lateral surface along the longitudinal direction, and guides light made incident on the light incident surfaces 71b in the inside thereof and emits the light from the light emission surface 71a. The housing 61 includes opening holes 62e that are provided at positions facing the light incident surfaces 71b. The light sources are arranged at the opening holes 62e, have surfaces emitting light facing the light incident surfaces 71b inside the opening holes 62e, and emit light to the light incident surfaces 71b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
