PURPOSE: A method is provided to automatically indicate an area code corresponding to the dialing code or an inherent number of a mobile communication by only pressing a telephone number at a terminal. CONSTITUTION: The local number automatic indicating method of a wire/wireless terminal having a storing and indicating devices is composed of the steps of: detecting the local number corresponding to the number by searching the stored local number in the storing device whenever the telephone number for communicating is input; starting communicating on the telephone if the confirming signal of a user is input by indicating the detected local number onto the indicating device.
