PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high voltage variable resistor for easy and reliable connection with a fly-back transformer, without requiring connection of a lead wire until the final process. SOLUTION: A circuit board 5, provided with a resistor circuit pattern whose surface includes a variable resistor, is housed in an insulating case 1 whose one edge is open. An slider is housed between the insulating case 1 and the surface of the circuit board 5. The opening of the insulating case 1 is packed with insulating resin, and an insulating resin layer 6 is formed on the back side of the circuit board. A terminal part 7 for connection formed by interposing cylinder-shaped conductive rubber 7c into a cylinder part 7b is projected from the insulating resin layer 6. Moreover, the cores of a lead wire for screen output and a lead wire for focus output are interposed by a lead wire holding means 4, which is arranged inside the insulating case.
