PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthogonally polarized wave branching filter which secures the isolation of vertically and horizontally linearly polarized wave and whose waveguide 1 constituting an orthogonally polarized wave branching filter has short length. SOLUTION: This branching filter is provided with a waveguide 1 where 1st and 2nd microwave signals are transmitted as 1st and 2nd linearly polarized waves that cross orthogonally each other, a 1st probe 2 which is provided in the waveguide 1 and selectively extracts the 1st linearly polarized wave and a 2nd probe 3 which is provided in the waveguide 1 respectively and selectively extracts the 2nd linearly polarized wave, a 1st short circuit plane 1b which is provided at the position separated by 1/4 wavelength from the 1st probe 2 in the transmission direction of the 1st microwave signal and reflects the 1st linearly polarized wave and a 2nd short circuit plane 1c which is located between the 1st probe 2 and the plane 1b, is also provided at the position separated by 1/4 wavelength from the 2nd probe 3 in the transmission direction of the 2nd microwave signal and reflects the 2nd linearly polarized wave.
