PURPOSE: An apparatus for transmitting a charge with final potential well adjacent to a floating diffusion region is provided to implement the final potential well nearer from the floating diffusion region than other potential wells. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for transmitting a charge with final potential well adjacent to a floating diffusion region includes a floating diffusion region(112), charge transmitting region, and a plurality of charge transmitting electrodes. The potential level of the floating diffusion region(112) is changed according to the amount of charges forming a charge packet. The width of the floating diffusion region(112) is W'. The transmitting region includes a transfer subregion and a border subregion. The transmitting electrodes are capacitively coupled with the charge transmitting region to generate a potential barrier between potential wells in charge transmitting region and the other potential wells. The transmitting electrodes transfer the charge packets through the potential wells responding to an actuation signal. The border subregion is located nearer from the floating diffusion region than other locations.
