PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helix type traveling wave tube capable of preventing charge up of a dielectric supporter itself and efficiently radiating to the outside heat generated in a slow-wave circuit. SOLUTION: In a traveling wave tube in which a helix 11 is supported on the inside of a metallic cylinder with a dielectric supporter 12, a supporter main body 13 is formed with beryllia with high heat-conductivity, a connecting part 14a made of boron nitride with high mechanical characteristics is connected to only a part coming in contact with the inside of a shell of the metallic cylinder to constitute the dielectric supporter, and thereby, temperature rising of the helix 11 is prevented and charge up of the dielectric supporter 12 is prevented.
