PURPOSE: A marine transportation relay management system and method is provided to carry out marine transportation through a reverse auction at a lower price and to save the physical distribution cost. CONSTITUTION: A member logs in a server and selects one among a reverse auction service(110), a marine transportation company on-line reservation service(120) or a common shipping reservation service(130). If the member selects the reverse auction service(110), he carries out an auction goods information input(111). The server searches marine transportation companies having transportation schedule information satisfying the conditions of the auction goods information(112) and transmits the auction goods information of searched marine transportation companies to officials in charge(113). The officials make their bids for the auction(114). A successful bidder as the most suitable bidder for the auction is determined among the marine transportation companies(115).
