PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling water amount controller for a vehicle capable of adjusting an amount of cooling water flowing in a bypass passage optimally. SOLUTION: This cooling water amount controller for a vehicle comprises a cooling water passage 4 connecting a water jacket 2 of an engine 1 with a radiator 3, a pump 5 provided in the cooling water passage 4 on a radiator outlet side, a bypass passage 6 connecting a pump inlet side of the cooling water passage 4 with a water jacket outlet side, a thermostat 7 provided in a connection part of the cooling water passage 4 on the radiator outlet side and the bypass passage 6 to open the cooling water passage 4 when a temperature of cooling water is high, and a variable valve 10 provided in the bypass passage 6 to adjust bypass flow in accordance with external air temperature.
