PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which executes exposure while preventing the decrease in the light quantity of a subject image to a film with the camera which allows the check of the subject image equal to the subject image taken on a film right after exposure. SOLUTION: This camera has a finder to monitor and display the subject image taken on the film 5 by branching part of the luminous flux (image) formed by a photographic lens system 1 by a pellicle mirror 3 movable upward and down and receiving the light to an image taking element 10 and has phase difference AF control and image monitor function. When the luminous of the subject is low in accordance with the result of metering, the camera makes exposure by preventing the decrease of the light quantity to the film by upwardly moving the pellicle mirror 3 and monitors and displays the picked up subject image just before the exposure during the exposure.
