PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct convergence adjustment by eliminating effects of thermal deformation of the aperture grille to adjust the convergence. SOLUTION: The convergence of a colored cathode-ray tube is adjusted by applying a heater power to an electron gun of the colored cathode-ray tube (S1), and then emitting an electron beam from the electron gun of the colored cathode-ray tube after a predetermined period (S3). By this method, the electron beam is not emitted from the electron gun of the colored cathode-ray tube for the predetermined period and thermal deformations are not generated in an aperture grille of the colored cathode-ray tube. Therefore, when adjusting the convergence in a manufacturing process of the colored cathode-ray tube or under setting condition, effects of thermal deformation of the aperture grille can be eliminated to correct the convergence adjustment.
