PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative material having an embossed pattern in tune with a pattern layer, being excellent in design properties, enabling incineration of the scrap and causing no possibility of pollution. SOLUTION: This decorative sheet is constituted by providing a foamable resin layer 3 containing a microcapsule type foaming agent having acrylonitrile resin as a partition, a foam suppressing layer 5 constituted of a solution to which a substance dissolving the acrylonitrile resin is added and a surface protective layer 7, as occasion demands, on a base sheet 2 formed of backing paper. The foamable resin layer 3 is heated to foam thereafter, so as to obtain the decorative material 1 wherein the foamable resin layer is formed as an embossed pattern layer 8 of which the part corresponding to the foam suppressing layer 5 is made a recessed part.
