摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the vapor content to fuel delivered from a mechanically driven fuel pump. SOLUTION: A fuel releasing passage 79 connected to a fuel passage 32 via a relief valve 12 is formed inside a plunger type fuel pump 10 for forming the fuel passage 32. The relief valve 12 connects the fuel passage 32 and the fuel releasing passage 79 when fuel pressure of the fuel passage 32 is higher than prescribed pressure, and cuts off these passages when the fuel pressure is lower than the prescribed pressure. The fuel releasing passage 79 is connected to a fuel tank 130 via a fuel return passage 13. An intermediate pump 11 more in a fuel delivery quantity than the fuel pump 10 is provided in the middle of a fuel introducing passage 134 between the fuel tank 130 and the fuel pump 10, and the fuel delivery quantity more than that is introduced to the plunger type fuel pump 10 from the intermediate pump 11. Since excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank 130 from the fuel releasing passage 79 in the fuel pump 10, vapor introduced to the fuel pump 10 or generated there is returned to the fuel tank 130.
