PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a state to readily open and close an upper structure while making an operator not to forget a tool, or the like, in a threshing chamber when the upper structure is closed in a thresher of a combine harvester equipped with the upper structure for forming a part of the threshing chamber and supporting a threshing cylinder so as to enable free vertical shaking between a rising open position and a falling close position. SOLUTION: This thresher of the combine harvester is equipped with a driving mechanism 20 for opening and closing the upper structure 10a. The driving mechanism 20 is connected through a long hole 22a to the upper structure 10a. The long hole 22a is operated to be closed by the driving mechanism 20 from the rising open position to the falling close position of the upper structure 10a, and the driving mechanism and the upper structure have an adaptability in which the upper structure is operated and closed from the rising open position to the falling close position by artificially applying a falling operation force thereto.
