PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor showing extremely high photosensitivity, low residual potential, having almost no accumulation of residual potential even when it is repeatedly used, and having extremely little changes in electrification property and sensitivity, extremely good stability and excellent durability. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive supporting body, the photosensitive layer contains polyester resin having the repeating unit expressed by general formula (1). In general formula (1), each A and B represents a benzene ring which may have substituents, X is a bivalent residue having >=80 formula weight and having aromatic rings.
